- Each year the Juneteenth of Thomasville- Thomas County Foundation Inc along with NAACP and One Heartbeat Inc along with other partnerships, hosts a Juneteenth Freedom Festival and Celebration on the Saturday after June 19. It is free and open to the public, with activities geared toward family participation, community unification, and good old-fashioned fun. This fun-filled, educational, and uplifting event kicks off with the official Opening Ceremony that includes songs, prayer, proclamations, and presentations on the origin and significance of Juneteenth.
