This free community-wide event will also offer free health screenings, live entertainment featuring the “Essence Band,” Car Show by the Guton Brothers, COVID-19 vaccines (provided by Archbold Medical Center), informational displays, vendors, kids activities and more.

The goal of the festival is to educate our community about African Americans’ freedom and achievements while encouraging continuous self-development and respect for the African American culture. The celebration is to create unity in our community, as well as break pre-judgmental barriers about the origins of African Americans and their path to freedom.

Hosted by No More Shackles Empowerment Mentoring Program, Inc. in partnership with the Douglass High School Alumni Association, Thomas County Branch of the NAACP , City of Thomasville and One Heartbeat., Inc.
