GUYS GETTING OUTTA TOWN

Looking for the perfect well-rounded guys’ getaway weekend? You’ll found it in Thomasville!

If tee time is your time, wake early for a round of golf at Country Oaks Golf Course. Call ahead to make your tee time and bring or rent your clubs. If seeing the city from the seat of a bike is your speed, head over to Hubs and Hops for their Saturday Clay Road Bike Ride. It starts at 8 am and offers routes from 10-100 miles across paved, unpaved and stellar canopy covered dirt roads. Bring your bike or make reservations to rent one.

Lunch time is here and you’ve got options. Might we recommend the pimento cheese and bacon jam burger at Sweet Grass Dairy Cheese Shop. Or a chili cheese dog from the locally famous Billiard Academy. Some say it’s the best dog ever bitten by man.

While you’re downtown, be sure to stop into Onward Reserve, Al Dixon’s, and Kevin’s for some curated finds you’ll love!

It’s five o’clock somewhere. Time to start the evening with a few one of kind on-tap beers at Hubs and Hops or get your bourbon fix at Liam’s Lounge.

Make your reservation ahead of time, then enjoy an in-house aged ribeye at Chop House on the Bricks or the filet mignon. Save room for a post dinner night cap and one of their handmade dessert selections.

Day two calls for some adventure! Start off with a big breakfast at Q Café, we’re talking smothered biscuits, sizzling bacon, eggs made to order, the works!.

Pack your guns and ammo, then try your hand at some skeet or trap shooting at the Ranges of Oakfield, and test your skill at the rifle range where the shots are recorded digitally. Speaking of shots, are you looking for the perfect hunt? Thomasville is the bobwhite quail hunting capitol of the world! You can book a quail hunt at Myrtlewood Plantation complete with dogs and guides.

As the day winds down, you have to swing by Harden’s Taxidermy to purchase the ever popular rattlesnake belt. Then, walk over to A.J. Moonspin for one of the best pizzas to be found, but be prepared - the slices are as big as your head!
