Long known for rolling hills and fertile red clay soil, this region is rich in biological diversity, natural resources, and endless scenic beauty. The Red Hills Region is home to the largest percentage of bobwhite quail in the world, as well as several threatened and endangered plant and animal species. Thomasville is also home to the largst natural stand of long-leaf pine trees in the nation. Southwest Georgia has long been noted for its great quantity and variety of game bids. Myrtlewood Plantation contains 3,300 acres of magnificent pine forests with tall stands of the endangered Longleaf Pines and an abundance of beautiful dogwood trees in the heart of the land known as the Red Hills Region. Enjoy fishing from four fishing lakes, quail hunts that include dogs, rigs and guides, and deer hunting conducted from tree blinds. Sporting clays are also available. The Clubhouse, with its large deck and, a pavilion on Twin Springs Lake, provides a beautiful backdrop for a wedding and wedding reception – even the rehearsal dinner. It would also be an ideal location for a class reunion, or – a large family gathering, employee appreciation day or seminar. The Clubhouse can accommodate large groups.
Myrtlewood Plantation also has four lodges located on the grounds, three of which have overnight accommodations. Each lodge is located on one of the beautiful lakes that are on the Plantation.
Myrtlewood Lodge on Lake Virginia can accommodate 30-35 people for gatherings or even a group of 75 – using the outdoor setting as well. Myrtlewood Lodge can comfortably sleep 8 persons. Each of the two bedrooms has two queen size beds and a private bath. There is a large, built-in grill on the spacious rear deck area and a wood burning fireplace in the gorgeous great room to take the chill out of those rainy or cool fall and winter evenings.
Big Pine Lodge can comfortably sleep 8 persons as well. This lodge has 2 sofa beds and, 2 bedrooms – each with 2 full-size beds. This lodge can also accommodate large groups for meetings or gatherings.
Wild Turkey Lodge has 2 bedrooms, each with 2 queen size beds and a private bath. This lodge is for overnight guests only with no accommodations for larger gatherings. This lodge has a small outside deck area with a Weber grill and the living area inside has a wood burning fireplace.
All of our accommodations have a fully-equipped kitchen and all linens are supplied. The rates do not include meals. If you wish to have meals catered for you and your guests we can arrange this for an additional charge when you call for your reservations.
A large commercial, mobile grill is available for use at any of the lodges and, all of the lodges except Wild Turkey Lodge have access to a commercial ice machine.
